It can be used to instantly narrate text and download audio files as WAV or MP3. It also has a pay-as-you-go model with the first 1 million characters being free and $8 per 1 million characters after that. There is also a commitment tier for as low as $4 per 1 million characters. Currently, it provides 3 American male voices and is working to add female and British voices. It also offers voice cloning on a case-by-case basis, but does not clone celebrity voices. The API takes around 2 seconds to process 3,000 characters. Additionally, they can customize the API on a case-by-case basis if needed.
